Rebit Review
Loosing important data, files, documents, valuable photos and personal videos, your contacts etc is very frustrating so it is important not only to have everything automatically backed up but to be able to access them wherever you are and whenever you want. When disaster comes, being it a hard disk failure, a laptop theft, a virus hit or an accidental deletion you can recover your files which are always kept in the most recent form.
The importance of Online Backup
We all forget to back up our files, and this can easily spell disaster. No matter what excuses you make about how busy you are or how you don’t have the time, once your computer dies, it’s bye-bye to all of your important files and documents. For those who think it’s a pain in the rear to back up your data, Rebit 5 is a godsend.
Rebit is a well known name in PC backup services, especially with its most recent software, the Rebit 5. It is a computer security firm that provides individuals and businesses with a reliable, automatic computer backup and recovery solution. The software automatically stores your files online in the background while you work without slowing down your PC. Unlike similar firms, it does not involve ‘silly’ procedures, configuration headaches, schedules or long hours of mouse clicks. It is a simple, effective but reliable computer duplication system that can run with zero effort from you. It will automatically duplicate all the contents of the PC; your emails messages, pictures, all the data, including your computer settings, applications and operating system. Recovering the content of your PC is made as easy as dragging and dropping them where they belong – no stories! With this system, persistent computer problems like drive crash, virus attack or occasional corruption of software installation will never border you again.
The whole idea behind this product is to make it so easy that you’ll do it without even thinking about it. It’s the perfect lazy person’s back-up and recovery software.

How Rebit Works
Rebit has a default setting that backs up your system partition. When you set it up, it will ask you if you’d like for it to do this (you should say ‘yes!). It will then continually check the file table to see if there are any changes and back up accordingly. It does this every few minutes.
Installation is quick and easy. It just involves you clicking ‘OK’ several times and that’s it. It will start backing everything up automatically. It starts out backing up the C drive but you can set it to back up your other internal drives as well. The C drive is where most people store their OS, data and applications, and the idea is to make the program as user friendly as possible, so this is the default setting.
Your first back-up will take a lot of time because there’s so much data to be saved. It will then continually back up files. If you’re doing network back-ups, it may take a bit longer for it to work, but this is the same with all back-up software.
What Makes Rebit Different
The real strength of Rebit is that it’s both easy and totally comprehensive. They’ve created a software program that’s easy to use without sacrificing any of its functionality. Set-up and installation are quick and easy, recovering files is simple, and complete hard drive restoration is no problem. It can get you back into shape after a computer crash without any stress or worry.
Although this may not be the most crucial issue when it comes to backing up your data, Rebit has a very visually attractive interface. If you hate backing up your files, maybe this will give you an extra bit of enticement!
It’s also versatile. It lets you swap out different back-up drives and doesn’t give you an error message when you put another drive in. You can also configure it to back up files to different destinations. This can include network locations. This gives you extra protection in case of any kind of serious disaster and it can do this concurrently with its usual back-up function.
Recovering data with this precious software is fast and easy. You can recover specific files that you’ve deleted or lost, or you can recover the entire hard drive. Like Apple’s Time Machine, it takes snapshots and lets you choose at what time you’d like to recover. In other words, you can recover the version of your hard drive from one hour ago or last Wednesday at 7:00. It gives you the data on CD, DVD or USB stick. These options offer much more flexibility than Rebit’s competitors.
The Disadvantages Of Rebit
One downside of Rebit that you should be aware of is that it will continue backing up to a location even if there isn’t adequate space. It will give you a warning that the amount of free space is below the minimum recommended amount, but it will continue backing up. Some reviewers complained that it would be much easier if the program would simply not allow you to keep backing up.
Another downside is that it doesn’t have cloud capability. This means that it can’t back up your data to private storage space on the Internet. Some higher-priced back-up software programs offer this. However, unless you’re worried about a natural disaster physically destroying your hard drive and other storage locations, it’s not really necessary.
Pricing
The one-PC license version of Rebit 5 is only $34.95. You can get the three-PC version for $79.95 and there’s also a Rebit 5 1TB external hard drive package that includes everything for $124.95. This package fully backs up your hard drive just in case you’re unable to reboot your computer at all because of a drive error. The company offers discount deals up to $15 off.
