Web designing is indeed an excessively meticulous process. You need a lot of accuracy and precision to get a website designed appropriately. Right from the stage of its inception, to the time of its launch, a website needs to be strategically handled. Nonetheless, most people fail to do that. They get so involved in building the macro picture, that the intricacies at the micro levels are conveniently overlooked. Consequently, the websites fail to perform! This is exactly why it is important to prevent ourselves from making web designing errors. Listed here are some common designing errors which must be avoided.
Use Keywords Properly
Most of us try to play tricks with keywords but end up playing havoc. We place them multiple times on a single page and often load them with tags. It is expected that the audience will click on the tags and be directed to your website. What happens unfortunately is quite the opposite. People generally skip pages which flash nothing but deliberately stuffed keywords! What is required is to put in the major words in a subtle and professional manner. Make your keywords gel with the content. Instead of using industry jargon as keywords, think of the various manners in which a layman would search for your service. Compile a list of all such words and phrases and then embed them carefully within the content. Your SEO rating will instantly improve.
Inculcate Consistency
A consistently designed website is certainly more searched and targeted as compared to a site that is designed haphazardly. There is no point using a variety of font sizes to attract viewer’s attention. Rather, it puts them off. Begin with a beautifully sized heading which gently leads to a smaller subtext and a readable text. Three font’s sizes should be quite enough. Do not use italics or bold letters in excess. Also do not try to make use of different colors. These would only make your website look like a collage. Let it be a professional and continuous flow of ideas and services.
Avoid Flashes and Music
One of the biggest blunders that we commit while designing websites is to assume that traffic would raise with flash pages and musical outlooks. It just doesn’t! In fact, people feel tremendously offended with large flash pages that take time to load. Moreover, music that neither suits the service nor your company is a big turn off too. If these must exist, make them optional. Give the viewers a choice to view what they want. After all, they are potential customers and you certainly do not want to scare them off with massively splashed pages and exceedingly hostile tunes.
Own Your Domain
Having your own domain name is a direct inference for the customers that not only do you take your business seriously but you also are easily approachable. The initial trust deficit and reliability questions do not build up. Domain names are priced at quite affordable rates these days. Purchasing them once would last you forever. Additionally, also make sure that your contact information is displayed right at the top of the page. It must stand out and be visible. This would further enhance the bond you will develop with your customers.
By taking the steps mentioned above, you will definitely be able to avoid the common web designing mistakes that we generally tend to make and develop a website which is good in content, fine in structure and fit for the web.

I like your point about using keywords properly. I think it is especially important when creating title tags for a web page. If you awkawrdly place too many keywords in the title, it stops making sense. Lot’s of people think, well, it doesn’t matter as long as I get lots of traffic for those keywords. But even if you rank 1 – 3 for those keywords, if the title doesn’t make sense, the click through rate is going to be pretty low. Sure lots of people click #1 on Google blindly, but many will look for a sensible title that matches their search intent. Get a balance of keywords and sensible titles that are click worthy.
