Norton 360 Review

NORTON 360 DISCOUNT COUPONHere’s my personal review on Norton 360 all in one security, backup and tuning software which I’ve been using since 2010 both in my desktop PC and my Asus 10′ Netbook. I also provide the latest Norton coupons and discount promotion links above.

Close to two years ago I brought home my new, fully-loaded, state-of-the-art PC (for which I spent a boatload of money) and for the first six months I was amazed by the lightning speed and precision of my new piece of equipment and awed by how efficiently I was able to perform normal everyday tasks. My computer was working so well, in fact, that I came to entirely depend upon it, not only for surfing the web—although that was a nice feature—but for shopping, banking, paying bills and managing my business.

The truth is I was never happier with an electronics purchase in my life—a purchase that made my life so much easier—UNTIL (and I’ll bet you knew there was a “but” coming) one day everything just seemed to slow down to a snail’s pace. My problems began with web pages that were loading much more slowly than I was accustomed to, and each day the problem seemed to get worse and worse. I began getting error messages and freeze-ups, so frequently that I was afraid the “blue screen of death” was right around the corner. I tried doing a scan with my “free antivirus program”—a scan that took close to 4 hours—but when it was through I was informed by this program that “all items had been fixed.” Fixed? If my problem was fixed, why did the same problems persist?

The whole ordeal was maddening, and frankly, I was at my wits end, about to succumb to the idea that I would have to purchase a new computer. But then, out of the blue, the help I was looking for came in the form of advice from a good friend. He explained to me that my computer might be infected by viruses, spyware and/or registry errors, and that these unwanted programs might be causing the perpetual sluggishness I was experiencing. He then told me to try Norton 360, and it was this sound advice that saved the day.

What Is Norton 360 and How Does It Work?

Developed by the Symantec Corporation, Norton 360 is more than just your run-of-the-mill antivirus program. No, this software is a one-stop solution for all your security, backup and PC tune-up needs. The software features a personal firewall and phishing protection and the uncanny ability to recognize and instantly remove malware of any kind.

After installing Norton 360 on my year old PC—and I must admit the installation process was fast and easy—I ran a full system scan to check for anything that shouldn’t be there, and I was amazed by what Norton 360 was able to find that my old antivirus program missed. My computer was infected with several viruses, spyware programs and other malware that were apparently running without my knowledge, hijacking my system memory and slowing my PC to a crawl. Now that explains everything. Fortunately, Norton 360 was able to painlessly remove these threats from my system, and after restarting my computer, I noticed an immediate and significant increase in speed. Just like that; no more endlessly blinking “hourglass” icons to tell me programs were attempting to load and no more error messages warning me that “my system may not be protected.” Just a smooth transition from page to page—smoothness, I must admit, I thought I’d lost forever.

Next, I used the PC tune-up tools included in this all-in-one product, and this component quickly and effortlessly pointed out many useless items that were cluttering my system, things like duplicate files, temporary files, cookies and broken files. In an instant, Norton 360 removed these files from my system and even rapidly fixed several registry errors I didn’t even know existed.

Needless to say, I was very impressed with Norton 360 from the start, and the more familiar I became with the software, the more impressed I became. After the initial scan, Norton 360 allowed me to set my own preferences in terms of scanning schedules and sweeps and showed me how to set my personal Norton firewall to block certain websites. The interface was so easy to use that even a novice like me was able to quickly configure the settings to coincide perfectly with my user habits.

You might think a program with this many features would be a “hog” in terms of the amount of computer memory it occupies, but surprisingly, I noticed no slow down whatsoever in the speed of my computer processes or programs, even when a scan was being performed. It ran so quietly in the background that at times I forgot it was even there.

Unlike other antivirus programs—especially the so-called “free” editions—Norton 360 updates every 5-15 minutes, constantly staying on top of new threats as they are formed, and defines these threats so they can’t slip by your security in the future. This is something other antivirus programs can’t offer, and as a result, these other programs are constantly susceptible to the 200+ new threats that are discovered each day. This last version is truly advanced, worry-free protection, allowing you to rest easy whether you’re surfing the net, chatting on your favorite messenger application or reading email. Because the program is continually on the “look-out” for anything suspicious, you’ll never have to worry about viruses or spyware that can steal your identity.

What Makes Norton 360 Unique?

As I briefly mentioned before, this user friendly software is not just your basic antivirus protection, but really four programs for the price of one. Norton 360 features four key components that set this software apart from the competition and into a league of its own. These four components, which are described in more detail below, are: PC Security, Identity Protection, Backup and PC Tune-up and maintenance.

What is Norton PC Security?

Norton PC Security is the antivirus component of the program, and as you know, Norton is the industry leader when it comes to this type of protection. Norton PC Security continually monitors your web activity and aggressively seeks out and instantly removes viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware and malware before they can cause damage to your system. Norton PC Security keeps you safe and protected, regardless of your web searching habits.

What Is Norton Identity Protection?

If you’re like me, you probably use your computer for things like banking, shopping, hotel reservations and other sensitive online transactions, but you can bet that wherever you are on the Internet, there are identity thieves just looking for the right opportunity to steal your personal information and identity. Norton Identity Protection offers advanced security to help block spyware and malware programs from infiltrating your system and stealing your personal information.

What is Norton Backup?

Backing up your programs, files and folders should be a regularly scheduled activity for any computer user. This will help save your information should your computer become damaged, or if you experience a complete system failure. What makes Norton Backup unique is that you can backup your data online, rather than to a disk or other device. This offsite backup protection could be a life saver if for any reason you’re no longer able to access your computer.

What is Norton PC Tune-Up?

Just as your car needs an occasional tune-up to keep it running optimally, so too does your computer. Norton PC Tune-up will help rid your computer of junk that is clogging the system; junk such as cookies, temporary files, and files with broken paths. The less junk that is cluttering your hard drive, the more optimally your computer will run.

Do You Need Norton 360 in Your Computer?

Chances are if you’re reading this you may have already been experiencing some problems with your computer, and believe me, I know how frustrating it can be. If you’ve tried everything and are still experiencing problems it may seem like you’ve nowhere to turn for help. If this sounds like you, than I highly recommend giving Norton 360 a try. Not only will you get the finest and most comprehensive antivirus/antispyware on the market, you’ll also be able to perform regular tune-ups and off-site backups to keep your system running perfectly.

Norton 360 is easy to install and comes with a 3-user license to protect up to three computers in your home. The installation takes only minutes and once installed you’ll be receiving full and proven protection from the best known name in computer security.

Perhaps the best reason to buy Norton 360 for your computer—at least this was the feature that most attracted me—is how effortlessly it runs in the background without slowing down other programs or processes. Unlike other antivirus programs which slow your system and annoy you with endless alerts and pop-ups, Norton 360 just does its job quietly without being intrusive.

You’d expect a program with all the features of Norton 360 would cost you an arm and a leg (at least I did), but surprisingly, for around $70 dollars you get the complete protection of Norton 360 from a name you can trust, including continuous updates and knowledgeable 24/7support. For the money, I really have not come across a more complete computer and Internet security product.

Did You Buy Norton 360 But Lost Your Product Key?

It happens to many antivirus users to lose their product key either by accidental deletion or disk format or even omit to type it in a document and save it somewhere in their documents. Well, that shouldn’t worry you. It has happened to me sometimes after PC formatting. Follow these steps to find your Product Key:
1. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet
2. Start your Norton product
3. At the top of your Norton product window click My Account and then Access Norton Account
4. Click Sign In then enter your email address and password and click Sign In again
5. Under “Products”, click the arrow next to the name of your Norton product and there it is; it is written right next the your product name. Copy and paste it in a document.
